Freddy the Elephant

Freddy the Elephant is shy and sensitive because of his size, he tries very hard to fit in. Too hard! He is sensitive, gets hurt easily, and sometimes stutters once in a while. Freddy has great inner potential, but needs to develop more self-assurance. Kids relate to Freddy as he struggles with his problems and recognize that nobody’s perfect.
Jaye Bartlett was born in Portage Lake, Maine. Her fascination with the magical world of words began early. She was a published poet at age eleven. Jaye lived in Soldotna, Alaska for twenty years and studied English and Psychology at the University of Alaska and Alaska Pacific University. Jaye tested many waters of creativity, including radio broadcasting, advertising copywriting and songwriting before finding her niche in children’s books. Jaye’s focus is to encourage children to reach their highest potential. Her poetry books for children are a source of hope and inspiration.
